It hasn’t been that long at all since Facebook officially launched the Timeline profiles. However a lot of people still want to know how to revert back to the original Facebook style, and for those who were “opt-in” to the new timeline look may just want to change back.
However in the process you may just catch yourself clicking through more trouble. Beware of the fake like pages as well as many pop-ups or bogus information that asks you to revert back to the old look, unfortunately once you activate the Facebook Timelinethere is no way to revert back to the original look seeing as all profiles will eventually be moved over.
As of this writing, 16 timeline-related scam pages remain live on Facebook, and together they’ve collected a total of more than 71,000 likes.
Facebook Timeline Scam Warning
Many of these pages appear near the top of Facebook search results for “timeline.”
A Facebook spokesperson said:
We work hard to educate users on how to be safe… We regularly update the Facebook Security page and its over 5 million fans with tips and information about new threats. We also work with outside experts on education initiatives.
However, the Facebook Security page contains no warning about these scams, nor is anything mentioned in the social network’s help center about the fact that timeline cannot be removed after the first seven days.
Users do have seven days to review all of the content that will appear in their timelines.
The Best Advice: Don’t Like any of these Fake Pages, never allow applications you aren’t familiar with to access any information on Facebook! Hope this helps, feel free to discuss and share this information with others!
